About the Project

My girlfriend Ali named my Civic “Sassy” — a name it’s earned through peculiar handling and numerous quirks. After nearly 15 years of service, I finally took her off the road. But what do you do with a car that’s on the brink of becoming dangerously unsafe? There are, of course, people interested in driving it until it falls apart, but gosh: that’s no fun!

So I decided to start the ReSassy Project. I’ll be taking Sassy apart and figuring out what to do with each of the pieces. I’m curious how much can be reused, repurposed, or recycled and how much will need to be thrown away. If I were, for instance, to take it to a junk yard, how much would actually get sold? If I had it crushed, how much gets reused?

(Plus, as a bonus, I’d also like to get my SQL skills up-to-date again so I’ll be working on a database to deal with the parts.)
